In terms of production, it is carefully crafted to possess a set of desirable characteristics. It has good alkali vapor resistance and thermal shock resistance, making it highly suitable for applications in the glass industry. For instance, it can be used in the flame space of glass furnaces, regenerator briquettes, wall bricks, and upper lattice bodies. It also finds its place in float glass furnaces, auxiliary bottoms of daily glass furnaces, or large bricks of material channels.
One of its key features is high refractoriness, reaching up to 1700℃, classifying it as a high - temperature refractory material. Additionally, it has a relatively high load softening temperature, typically around 1650 - 1690℃ due to its low impurity content. The good thermal shock resistance makes it ideal for glass kiln applications.
Sintered AZS also shows good resistance to chemical erosion. It can withstand acidic or alkaline slag, metal liquid erosion, and is resistant to oxidation - reduction reactions. Moreover, as the AL2O3 content increases, the content of harmful impurities decreases, enhancing its overall performance.
Compared to fused - cast AZS brick, although it has lower apparent porosity, density, and resistance to glass erosion, its other advantages still make it a valuable choice in many refractory applications.
